Beauty Salons and Barber Shops have the same risks as any other business; fire, trip and fall incidents, however Beauty Salons and Barbers also carry an additional risk; Professional liability.

Professional liability may be one of the most important kinds of coverage. It helps cover your clients when you actually are at fault for causing cosmetology damage while performing your service. Accidental cuts or dismemberment while shaving, or cutting the hair of a client. Severe Burns or Lacerations caused by perms or dyes. Many services performed by Salons can cause injury to a client, which would fall under Professional Liability coverage. "

Q: "Is it better to use an independent Insurance Adjuster than file a claim directly with the Insurance Company?"
A: "lf you suffer a medium to large claim usually relating to fire damage, many times it is advantageous to have an Insurance Adjuster represent you. Adjusters represent you after your loss to make certain that you are getting the appropriate amount of funds and that the insurance company is not trying to settle for less than you deserve.

Many policy holders prefer to file their claim directly with the insurance company, however, the benefits of having an adjuster, though, are quite substantial. An adjuster's job is to know what type of settlement is fair in a particular case and how to talk to insurance companies in a convincing matter. The average policyholder does not know how to do these things himself and may settle for much less than he could have gotten.

Additionally, companies may be more inclined to process your claim quickly and efficiently when they know a qualified expert is watching them. Adjuster fees vary by company, but most charge a certain percentage of the settlement.
